King Country Energy Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Mr Rob Foster as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Foster will join the company in August and replaces Mr Kit Wilson, who retired on 31 May after six years as CEO and thirteen years as a company director.

King Country Energy Chairman, Brian Gurney, says Mr Foster brings a depth and breadth of business experience to the role.

“Rob brings fifteen years of senior executive experience to his role as King Country Energy CEO.  In addition to working in the energy industry with TransAlta NZ and Mercury Energy, Rob also spent seven years with Macquarie New Zealand.

“For the past two years he has worked with ABNAMRO Craig’s a Director, Equities Research for the energy, utilities and property sectors.

“The Board is excited about his depth and breadth of experience and we’re confident he can lead King Country Energy into a new phase of growth,” explains Mr Gurney.

The Board has tasked Mr Foster with leading the company’s expansion of its renewable generation portfolio and confirming its position as a successful mid-sized retail generation business.
