KCE has been generating electricity from hydro power stations for over 50 years.

King Country Energy is a power generation company with five hydro power stations in the King Country and Horowhenua Districts. KCE power stations are located in some wonderful areas of the country and can be great places to visit. 

Along with a commitment to renewable energy, KCE actively supports our communities through multiple stand-alone community events and funding initiatives.

Our Power Stations

KCE owns four hydro power stations located within the King Country region - Kurutau, Wairere, Mokauiti and Piriaka -  and the Mangahao hydro power station near Shannon.
