If the loss of electricity could result in loss of life or serious harm, please contact us immediately on 0800 523 637 so we can register you or a member of your family as a medically dependent customer.
How to register as a medically dependent customer
- Call us on 0800 523 637 so we can make a note on your account
- Ask your health provider to complete KCE’s medical dependency form to confirm you require critical medical equipment at your property
- Post the completed medical dependency form back to us as soon as possible at: KCE PO Box 363 Taumarunui 3496
Your emergency back-up plan during an electricity outage
If you're medically dependent, it's important that you have an emergency response plan in place. A power outage can occur suddenly during bad weather, emergency repair work or other unexpected circumstances.
Your emergency response may include:
- A fully charged stand-by battery
- A plan to re-locate to somewhere with a working electricity supply
- Calling an ambulance in serious circumstances
